Leading this all-party delegation is none other than Shashi Tharoor, a Congress MP and seasoned diplomat, whose selection is both symbolic and strategic. Despite facing flak within his own party for appreciating Operation Sindoor, Tharoor has now been entrusted with India’s most critical international message post the Pahalgam attack. 

Operation Sindoor: What Triggered This?

On April 22, a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir claimed the lives of 26 people. The cross-border roots of the attack pushed India to act swiftly. On May 7, Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, a bold offensive targeting nine terror hubs inside Pakistan and PoK, decimating key camps of LeT, JeM, and Hizbul Mujahideen. Over 100 terrorists were neutralized.
